ASSA ABLOY Emphasizes Education Design Trends and Decorative Solutions at the 2014 AIA National Convention

CHICAGO, IL, June 26, 2014 — Visit the ASSA ABLOY showcase (booth#4431) at the 2014 AIA Convention June 26-28, in Chicago. The ASSA ABLOY Education Solutions Showroom will anchor the booth, enabling convention attendees to step inside for a tour and view the latest school safety and security solutions geared specifically to address the challenges of today’s education environment.

“Architecture and design influence the way people feel and function in building interiors. And because building occupants are directly impacted by the door and hardware security solutions in an interior space, those solutions should not only be functionally effective, but should be integral to the interior, informed by the aesthetics of the space," said Sandy Matheny, Director, Decorative Opening Solutions, ASSA ABLOY. “Our door and hardware solutions are designed for best-in-class functionality with aesthetics top of mind. We want designers to know they can confidently meet door and hardware security and code requirements for a building, and can do so without compromising the intent of their designs.”

The newest products featured in the ESS II include the IN120 WiFi access control lock and the Ecoflex electrified mortise lock, by Corbin Russwin and SARGENT, along with the brand new TRUE Wood RITE Door by Adams Rite. The Ecoflex™ lock reduces energy consumption up to 96%, as certified by GreenCircle, and is field configurable to fail-safe or fail-secure. It operates from 12-24VDC, offering greater flexibility in system design. The IN120 allows facilities to leverage their WiFi infrastructure to expand access control easily and affordably, with a streamlined design to blend seamlessly onto any door. Ready to pass every fire inspection, the TRUE Wood RITE Door features fire rating up to 90 minutes, and pre-installed hardware makes for quick and simple installation.

Outside of the ESS II, ASSA ABLOY is also highlighting the Rockwood Locking Pull System, a simple, durable and beautiful design for swinging and sliding doors in glass houses, storefronts, and interior offices. Integrating a contemporary PostMount or GeoMetek style door pull with a deadbolt locking system, it's manufactured to ensure strength and durability with clean and appealing lines. ASSA ABLOY is also debuting the new Pemko Stainless Steel Sliding Track System for sliding doors, suitable for environments such as hospitality, offices, multi-family housing and healthcare facilities where a modern look is desired and space is at a premium.
